DVDs are ready!
As some of you may already know, the Yoda's Treasure DVDs are ready to be distributed! The DVD case wraps are being printed as I type this, so I'll have the copies ready for handing out later today. It's about time, right? ;-)

The Contest Begins!
The 2006 Star Wars Fan Film Awards is now accepting submissions. StarWars.com announced the news on October 25 at their website. There's a bit more time to get films in this year since the deadline is June 6, and the awards will be given out in July. This gives us a good chance of getting "Luke & Leia" and possibly one other film in before time is up. Details can be found here.
In other news, the DVDs for "Yoda's Treasure" have been printed. Once the case material is printed up, they'll be ready for distribution. Stay tuned!

Progress!
Slowly but surely, the DVDs will get done. I have to take this time to thank Travis for donating some of his winnings from a slot machine in Vegas. Way to go, Travis! :-D I never get that lucky. I have purchased the cases, have the cover art and disk art ready to go, and just need to get them both printed out now. Hey, maybe these would make nice Christmas presents for you! BWAHAHAHA! Man, I hope it doesn't take THAT long!
In other news, I'm making use of all those flyers that I made for "Yoda's Treasure" by putting them up on public bulletin boards in the area. We'll see if this generates more traffic to the site or not.
Oh, and I recently put in contact information off to the right on this page. Yeah, I've been meaning to do that for quite some time. I wanted to go about it another way that I've seen in the past in which the e-mail address would be invisible to search engines, but that will have to be taken care of later. Gotta go check the "Call For Help" television show's website (unless someone wants to go search for me and e-mail it over). ;-)

Money woes
It looks like I won't be able to get the DVDs out as scheduled. I'm looking at $70 just for ink and cases, and I still need to figure out how much the cover art will cost to print out. However, I do have the cover art 99% completed. It's just the spine I need to finish, but that will depend on the type of cases I purchase. I'm leaning towards the slim cases which are half the thickness of regular cases. In any case, money is very thin right now, and I'd appreciate any donations that people can make no matter how small. Just shoot me off an e-mail and let me know what you're capapble of donating. Thank you! :-)

Oh no!
After coming up with a few dates for shooting the next couple of films, it looks like we may have to postpone the shoots until possibly spring. This is because Travis, one of the main actors in at least one of the films, is going to be in Vegas until early next year. This would, of course, place these films out of contention for next spring's fan film awards. However, I'm looking into the possibility of replacing Travis with another suitable actor. I'm just coming up blank with figuring out who would fit the part as well. I do have one person in mind, but I'm not quite sure if he'd fit the bill. More on this later.

Ch-ch-ch-changes!
In case you hadn't noticed, I made a few changes on the site the past couple of days (or nights, as it is in this case). The first obvious one is that the Luke & Leia site is up and being worked on. Of course, more will be added there once production starts. The other change is that I removed the Yoda's Treasure News link. I didn't want to start getting into having a seperate blog for every movie I make, so I decided that all news items will appear here rather than in each movie's individual site. The news items from Yoda's Treasure are now found by clicking on "Even OLDER archives" in the archives section on the right of this page.

Next Project!
My script for the next project is complete, and I'm ready to do some test filming in the coming weeks. I'm hoping to shoot the new film in September or October. No, I'm not going to give out too many details yet, but the working title (in case I decide to change it) is Luke and Leia, and it's probably not what you're expecting (unless you're one of the priviledged few who have seen my new script). ;-)
DVDs almost ready!
Yes, we're finally at the burning stage. I'm going to be working on the DVD label and insert artwork in the coming week. After that will be the printing process, and then we're ready to start shipping! If all goes well, I'm figuring people will have Yoda's Treasure DVDs in their hands by the end of the month.

Problems with Firefox? FIXED!
Yes, I finally got around to updating the code for the Yoda's Treasure page menu. I also changed the look of it while I was at it. So, if anyone has any more issues when using Firefox on this site, please let me know!

Message from Jeff Allen, director of Trooper Clerks!
I logged into my account over at theforce.net today and had a pleasant suprise waiting for me! Jeff Allen, director of Trooper Clerks, whom I met at C3 at the Trooper Clerks booth there, sent me the following note.
Todd,
I was surfing google, looking for references to our Trooper Clerks booth at C3, and your blog came up as one of the 2 that mentioned seeing us. Thanks for stopping by. I hope we treated you with kindness while you were there, and it seems that you got an autographed postcard or something from atleast one of us creators. YAHHHH!!!!!!
I liked your fanfilm, "Yoda's Treasure". Very BRitish in humor. Excellent!!!!
I especially liked the "I am your Sister" bit with Darth Smiley. Classic . I think you might be the first to have pulled that joke off in a SW fanfilm. Oh, Elmo as Yoda. Another good one. HAR!
Trooper Clerks Cartoon Artist, Todd Coss, lives in Mineeapolis/St. PAul these days. If you want to hook up with him one day and chat SW or other geekness, I'll slide you some contact info.
Thanks again for stopping by the booth and mentioning us in your blog, makes all that money spent at C3 worth spending,
Jeff Allen
director - Trooper Clerks
You're very welcome, Jeff! :-)

The big week!
Yep, Thursday marks the opening day of the last Star Wars movie, Episode III. I will be going to the midnight showing, of course, at the CineMagic Theatres in Rochester, MN, IN COSTUME, and handing out flyers for Yoda's Treasure. You can take a look at the flyer design here. I haven't received word from the theater yet on permission to hand these out yet, but I'm hoping to resolve the situation tomorrow with a phone call. Stay tuned!

CELEBRATION III RECAP!
Two of us from Flaming Death Productions (Matt and myself) attended all four days of Star Wars Celebration III in Indianapolis last week. For pictures and a full recap from my perspective, check out the special page I've constructed just for the occasion which is located at http://ncc2012.com/special/c3/c3.html.

Special Edition?
I'm going to be completing a special edition of Yoda's Treasure in the near future. I figured that since the film isn't being chosen in AtomFilms' contest, I might as well make the changes I wanted to originally make. Essentially, it's adding in music where it really needs it. There are two parts that I have in mind that shouldn't take long. Just don't expect anything this weekend. ;-)
Contact Information
I meant to do this a while back but keept forgetting about it until today. Contact information for Flaming Death Productions is (on this page to your right). I'll have a more permanent link placed here on the site soon...just not this weekend. ;-)
edited so I don't get spam mail!

Celebration III!
Yes, both Matt and myself are attending Star Wars Celebration III in Indianapolis this weekend! After waiting in line about an hour, we did finally get in and enjoyed the festivities. I was pleasantly surprised to find a booth set up by the creators of "Trooper Clerks," one of the past winners of the AtomFilms fan film contests. Thanks for the autographs, guys! :-)
More to come later!

Problems with Firefox browsers
I've encountered the problem where my image map used for the Yoda's Treasure menu will not work in Firefox browsers. The only link that will work is the one to take you back to the main page. However, if you're using Internet Explorer, you should have no problems. So, here are some quick links for you:

Resubmitting....
I just saw this in the Fan Film boards over at TheForce.net:
Due to a technical issue associated with us switching to a new email address, we have not been able to review many of the submissions sent to us over the last month. I have resolved this issue but we are not able to retrieve these lost submissions. If you submitted a film to us during this time, please re-submit it using the same form as you did last time.
Thanks and we apologize for the inconvenience.
That explains why I haven't heard anything from them in so long. So, here we go again....

Yoda's Treasure Premiere!
Yesterday was the premiere of "Yoda's Treasure" for cast and crew! In addition, I opened up the link to the trailer in three different areas. For more details, head on over to the "Yoda's Treasure" link along the top of the site here.
As for our patient wait on the film submissions, I still have not heard anything back from either Atomfilms or TheForce.net. I may have to resubmit to the latter since it's been a while now and should have heard something from them by this time.
